Well, they’d go in the evening; they’d go in the evening to her parents’

and sleep there. Then the bride will take pots and will go

early in the morning: – go to [the well for] water, to pour out at [her] girlhood [home].

Then the in-laws, would come, the groom’s mother and father

17 (a) tàm suberà dòjda: pə tìə futrintà [laughter]

would come and gather [at the bride’s parents’] in the morning [laughter]

18 (a) i pà jàdene pìene tàm tə [laughter] təvà [laughter]

and there would be eating and drinking there [laughter].

19 (a) e təvà se vìkə puvràt'č'i [laughter]

That’s called “[ritual] visiting”. [laughter]

70 (a) tòj i gə dàvə i hùrkətə̥ i kətu dòi p’ètəkə

and he gives her the distaff. And when Friday comes,

71 (a) u p’ètək večertɤ̀ ot’ùvəme nə pòvrənki mu vìkət
